What We Collect
Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4, which sets cookies and assigns your browser an identifier so we can see how the site is used. We look at this data in aggregate — pages, referrers, engagement — and do not combine it with your name or email. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy.
Newsletter. Subscribing to The Briefing requires confirming a link we email you (double opt-in). We store your email address, your name if you signed up with Google, the page you signed up on, and a record of when you consented. Delivery runs through Brevo, our email provider. If you decline or never confirm, we keep at most your email address and the fact that you said no — nothing else.
Google sign-in. If you use the Google prompt to subscribe, Google shares your email address and name with us. We use them only for the newsletter and store nothing else from your Google account.
Contact form. Messages sent through our contact form (name, email, message) are stored in our customer-relationship system, Follow Up Boss, so we can reply.
Priority Review requests. If you submit a paid review request, billing runs through Stripe. We keep billing records as long as tax law requires.
Server logs. Like nearly every website, our servers log IP addresses for security. These logs delete automatically.
How Long We Keep Things

Cookies
Google Analytics sets cookies as described above. The site itself stores only small functional preferences in your browser (such as whether you already dismissed a signup prompt). Affiliate links lead to third-party sites that may set their own cookies; we do not control or see that data.
Third-Party Processors
Brevo (email delivery), Google (analytics and sign-in), Follow Up Boss (contact messages), Stripe (payments), and Cloudflare (content delivery and security). Each processes data under its own privacy policy.
Your Rights
You can request a copy or the deletion of any personal data we hold. Email [email protected] and we will act within 30 days. For deletion, we send a confirmation link to the address in question — only the owner of the inbox can approve it — and then permanently remove every record, keeping only an anonymized fingerprint as proof we honored the request. Newsletter emails also carry a one-click unsubscribe link.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes appear on this page with a revised date.
